Malowanie farbami akrylowymi to taka moja nie spełniona miłość.

Więc z okazji kolejnej fali upałów wyciągnąłem z szafy taki mały projekt (jeden z tych "kiedyś to w końcu zrobię").

Painting with acrylic paints is my unfulfilled love.

So, on the occasion of the next heatwave, I pulled a small project out of the closet (one of those "someday I'll finally do it").

Główny bohater dzisiejszego postu - torba Królewskich Holenderskich Sił Powietrznych.

Zasadniczo to kopia brytyjskiej torby (Haversack) z oporządzenia 1937 Pattern Web Equipment.

A tak po ludzku jest to chlebak z mocnej , grubej , "parcianej" bawełnianej tkaniny w kolorze szaroniebieskim.

Od zakupu przeleżał jakieś trzy (?) lata w szafie czekając na zmiłowanie.

Wyprodukowany (wg. pieczątki) w 1954 roku.

Rok 1954:

- Pierwszy udany przeszczep nerki

- Elvis Presley wydał debiutancki singiel "That's All Right"

- W kwietniu urodzili się aktorzy Jackie Chan oraz Dennis Quaid.

- Całkowite zaćmienie słońca widoczne m.in. w Polsce.

The main character of today's post - a bag of the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

It's basically a copy of the British Haversack from the 1937 Pattern Web Equipment.

And in english, it is a shoulder bag made of strong, thick, "webbing" cotton fabric in gray-blue.

Since the purchase, it lay about three (?) years in the closet waiting for mercy.

Produced (according to the stamp) in 1954.

Year 1954:

- First successful kidney transplant.

- Elvis Presley released his debut single "That's All Right".

- Actors Jackie Chan and Dennis Quaid were born in April.

- Total solar eclipse visible in Poland.

Najpierw usunąłem różne paski i sprzączki za pomocą których można było przerobić torbę na mini plecak (niepotrzebne mi do niczego) oraz wybebeszyłem środek torby ze wszystkiego.

First, I removed various straps and buckles that could be used to convert the bag into a mini backpack (I don't need it for anything) and gutted the inside of the bag from everything.

Torba została wzbogacona kieszeń na zewnątrz (zapinaną na napę) oraz dwie w środku (jedna otwarta oraz druga zapinana na zamek.

Kieszenie z zielonej skóry o grubości 1 mm.

Hmm... Skoro to ma być torba w klimatach post apokaliptycznych , jakiejś alternatywnej historii w której II wojna światowa się przedłuża etc. to chyba nikt by nie zwracał większej uwagi na estetykę szwów. Tylko szył byle mocno i z czego bądź.

Prawda ? Chyba. Dlatego te skórzane kieszenie i dość "surowy" styl szwów , ale za to wykonanych mocnymi poliestrowymi nićmi.

Oryginalny pas naramienny został przedłużony , teraz można ją normalnie nosić.

Plus mała otwarta kieszonka z przodu , w sam raz na paczkę chusteczek higienicznych.

Apokalipsa apokalipsą ale chodzenie dookoła z zasmarkanym nosem pełnym glutów...

To trochę nie teges.

The bag has been enriched with a pocket on the outside (fastened with a press stud) and two inside (one open and the other zippered).

Pockets made of 1 mm thick green leather.

Hmm... Since it's supposed to be a bag in post-apocalyptic climates, some alternative history in which World War II is prolonged, etc. I don't think anyone would pay much attention to the aesthetics of the seams. He just sewed hard and whatever.

Right ? I guess. That's why these leather pockets and a rather "raw" style of seams, but made with strong polyester threads.

The original shoulder strap has been extended, now it can be worn comfortably.

Plus a small open pocket on the front, perfect for a small pack of tissues.

Apocalypse, end of the world, etc. but walking around with a snotty nose full of slime...

This is not good.

Farby , pędzle i jaaazda.

Zasadniczo były jakieś plany jak to ma wyglądać ale po około 5 minutach dałem sobie spokój z planami i poszedłem na żywioł.

Jakby to ładnie napisać - malowałem to co mi serce podpowiadało.

Możliwe że mocne ciemne piwo miało jakiś wpływ na ostateczny wynik.

And finally painting.

Paints, brushes and off we go.

Basically there were some plans of what it would look like but after about 5 minutes I gave up on the plans and improvised.

How to write it nicely - I painted what my heart told me.

It is possible that strong dark beer had some influence on the final result.

Z resztek tkaniny z środka torby powstała mała kieszeń zapinana na napy , która ma środku jeszcze jedną mniejszą kieszeń zapinaną na zamek błyskawiczny.

Zużyłem ostatnie napy 15 mm. Znowu się szykują wydatki :(

From the remnants of the fabric from the inside of the bag, a small pocket fastened with press studs was created (which has inside another smaller pocket fastened with a zipper).

I used up the last 15mm snaps. Expenses are coming again :(
