SAS Windproof Smock Part III / Kurtka anorak , wiatrówka

SAS Windproof Smock WW2 - prosta zakładana przez głowę kurtka z kapturem i czterema kieszeniami.

Nieśmiertelna klasyka wprowadzona do użytku w 1942 w Brytyjskich Siłach Zbrojnych.

Początkowo była wydawana tylko komandosom / siłom specjalnym etc. później rozpowszechniła się ale legenda czegoś "elitarnego" pozostała :)

Używana do lat 60/70-ych. A w 1990 mała ilość chyba jeszcze drugo-wojennych egzemplarzy kurtki wyciągniętych z magazynów miała "come back" razem z oddziałami SAS w Iraku w czasie pierwszej wojny w Zatoce Perskiej.

Podejrzewam że w związku z serialem "SAS Rouge Heroes" kurtka przeżywa kolejną już młodość.

Założenie takie że krój jak najbardziej zbliżony do oryginału ale uszyta z tkaniny z współczesnym wzorem maskującym sił zbrojnych Łotwy.

SAS Windproof Smock WW2 - a simple pullover jacket with a hood and four pockets.

An immortal classic introduced in 1942 in the British Armed Forces.

Initially, it was only issued to commandos / special forces etc. later it spread around but the legend of something "elite" remained :)

Used until the 60s/70s. And in 1990, a small number of probably WWII jackets pulled out from storage had "come back" with SAS troops in Iraq during the first Gulf War.

I suspect that in connection with the "SAS Rouge Heroes" TV series, the jacket is experiencing another youth.

The assumption is that the cut is as close to the original as possible, but made of fabric with a modern camouflage pattern of the Latvian armed forces.

Szyjąc kurtkę zacząłem od najtrudniejszej jak dla mnie części czyli kaptura.

When sewing the jacket, I started with the most difficult part for me, which is the hood.

Następnie korpus z kieszeniami , rękawy.

Przyznaję że na etapie wszywania rękawów przez moment było nerwowo :)

Może kiedyś opanuję wszywanie rękawów do tego stopnia że obejdzie się bez dużej ilości słów powszechnie uważanych za nieprzyzwoite oraz obraźliwe - ale jeszcze nie dzisiaj.

Użyte guziki pochodzą z belgijskiego demobilu z połowy lat 50-ych. 

Pasowały kolorem i ogólnie lubię materiały i dodatki z historią w tle. Możliwe że te guziki zwiedziły razem z belgijskim wojskiem kawałek świata (głownie Afrykę - Kongo). 

Użyte nici to (wyjątkowo) Amman Serafil 60 w kolorze beżowym 09438 i zielone Ariadna Artyn 80E kolor 0756.

Then the body of the jacket with pockets, sleeves.

I admit that at the stage of sewing sleeves I was nervous for a moment :)

Maybe one day I'll master sewing sleeves to the point where I can do it without a lot of words commonly considered obscene and offensive - but not today.

The buttons used come from a Belgian surplus from the mid-1950s.

They matched the color and in general I like materials and accessories with history in the background. It is possible that these buttons visited a piece of the world together with the Belgian army (mainly Africa - Congo).

The threads used are (exceptionally) Amman Serafil 60 in beige color 09438 and green Ariadna Artyn 80E color 0756.

Końcówka szycia i nagle przychodzi TEN moment.

Człowiek robi ostatnie szwy tu i tam , już widać wyłaniającą się całość prawie ukończonego projektu. 

I ta całość zaczyna wyglądać... No nieźle.  Tak naprawdę całkiem , całkiem :)

Człowiek się cieszy , myśli sobie "Kurka wodna no fajnie , dobry jestem w te klocki. Może nie jakiś tam super ekstra wybitny ale... Trzymam niezły poziom".

Skrzydła u ramion etc.

I wtedy maszyna strzela FOCHA. Nici się plączą , automatyczne szycie dziurek kategorycznie odmawia współpracy. Prucie , mnóstwo nitek i trzydzieści pięć minut z życiorysu wyjęte na to aby znowu działało jak należy.

Oczywiście dobry nastrój poooszedł i już nie wrócił tego dnia.

The end of sewing and suddenly comes THIS moment.

I'm doing the last stitches here and there, I can already see the whole of the almost finished project emerging.

And the whole thing is starting to look all right. Quite, quite, actually :)

I'm happy and I think to myself "Damn, it's cool, I'm really good at this. Maybe not some super extra outstanding master class but...  I keep it at good level".

Wings on shoulders etc.

And then the machine shows a temper. The threads get tangled, the automatic sewing of buttonholes categorically refuses to cooperate. Ripping, lots of threads and thirty-five minutes of life taken out to make it work properly again.

Of course, the good mood left and never came back that day.

Ukończona kurtka , coraz bardziej lubię ten wzór. Prawdopodobnie powstaną też szorty na lato.

Finished jacket, I like this pattern more and more.

Probably shorts for the summer will also be created.
